Event Details

“Changes testify the passage of time…” As time progresses, today’s Hong Kong Island coastline doesn’t look anything like what it used to be in 1841. Hong Kong has come a long way from being a rocky beach to be named the City of Victoria. The City first saw its urbanized prosperity through the four “Wans” - Sai Wan, Sheung Wan, Central and Wan Chai (formerly Ha Wan). What remain are the 100-year old tram tracks that remind us of our history, our roots. IMG_3686t IMG_3706t IMG_3721t “Dancing All Around” invites the audiences to saunter Sai Wan and Kennedy Town, move along the tram tracks in search of hidden cultural and historical traces in the West of Hong Kong Island. A group of young choreographers have identified locations along this route for their site-specific dance creation. Following the choreographers, the audiences will get a glimpse of the cultural and historical traces in the various performance sites, appealing to your attention to what are now lost: the coastline, and our shared memories.
