medlin My work focuses on the relationship between dance and the moving image. For twenty-five years I have combined lighting design, projection and spatial design to collaboratively create new dance performances, dance films, and new media art works with choreographers and dancers.

Over these years I have collaborated with many choreographers and directors including Ros Warby, Sandra Parker, Rebecca Hilton, Lucy Guerin, Carol Brown, Russell Dumas, Russell Maliphant, John Jaspers, Ong Keng Sen, Gideon Obarzanek, Lea Anderson, Helen Herbertson, Hellen Sky and mentored many young dance-makers in Australia and Internationally.

Between 2007 and 2015 I was the Director of Critical Path, Sydney Australia’s choreographic research centre. Where my program was dedicated to instigation of innovative research platforms for choreographers and interdisciplinary artists. In 2013 I was nominated for an Arts Asia Award for her work with Attakkalari Center for Movement Arts, Bangalore. In 2014 I received an artistic leadership award from the Australia Council of the Arts to research the incubation of media arts practices and performing arts networks in Asia.

1999 to 2001 I was an artist in residence at the ZKM, Centre for Art and Visual Media, in Karlsruhe, Germany between where I produced Miss World. I then received a Science and Art production award from the Wellcome Trust in London in 2005 for the Quartet Project. My media artworks have been exhibited extensively including Germany, Japan, Finland, India, the USA, Cuba and Australia.
